Innovative app to speed up, improve Emergency Department care profiled on Channel 10
CharterCARE's hospitals -- Our Lady of Fatima and Roger Williams Medical Center -- are the first in Rhode Island to use Twiage, an innovative app that allows emergency departments and EMS to share crucial patient information before the rescue arrives at the hospital. Both hospitals launched Twiage on April 11; as of May 10, 12 cities and towns have trained and equipped their EMS crews with the Twiage technology, meaning they can transmit photos, videos, or tests like EKGs performed on the rescue to the Emergency Departments at Roger Williams and Fatima while en route. Twiage also acts as a GPS so Emergency Department staff can better track a rescue's arrival time.
